I can't believe this page hasn't been updated in over a year! I guess we've been busy. We've had a fun ride over the last 14 months. There are only a handful of our second CD, "My Own Worst Enemy" left. Drummer Ken Patton returned last July. Bassist JP retired again last month and we're currently looking for a replacement. We have some auditions scheduled and the candidates look very promising. JP's departure is bittersweet and we're sad he's had to leave, but we're excited about the prospect of adding some new blood to the group.

Plans for 2009 have had to be greatly amended due to the economy. However, we are planning on recording the 3rd album sometime this year with a probably 2010 release.

Item March 12, 2008.

Founding member and bassist JP has rejoined the band! We're very very pleased to have him back with the band. Look for new bands pics in the gallery soon!

Item Feb 6, 2008.

2008 is shaping up to be a great year for the band. Our first album, Damaged, Ugly & Loud is nearly sold out. Work on our second project, My Own Worst Enemy begain this month and nearly half the tracks are ready for mixing. We've got shows lined up from Franklin to Salem Indiana this year, so come on out and say hello!

One thing about life is, it never stays the same. The same can be said of the Resistors. Late last week, long time drummer Ken P informed the band he would be taking a long leave of absence from the band to attend to personal matters. Days later, founding member and bassist JP announced he was leaving the band.

We hate to see JP go and he will certainly be missed. Thanks JP for all you’ve done for the band over it’s lifetime and please know the door is always open should you decide to return. We would also like to wish Ken all the best in his future.

Taking over JP’s spot on bass is Resistor’s lead guitarist, Doc Shew. The good Doctor said he was looking forward to a change of pace. For now, this puts the job of lead guitar on Dano’s capable shoulders.

We’re pleased to announce stepping in for Ken is none other than Doon, from Columbus’ metal band, Zoo. Zoo has shared the stage with the Resistors on several occasions and Doon brings years of experience to the band. On October 17th the band rehearsed for the first time with all the changes and the new dynamic was nothing short of amazing.

Looking ahead, expect a CD release show in the near future as well as shows in Bedford, Madison, Lafayette, Bloomington and possibly Springfield IL.

Finally, there are a few advance copies of the debut album, Damaged Ugly & Loud at Guitar City in Columbus. Soon you will also be able to pick one up at Tom Picketts Music Center and Karma Records. On November 6th you can find them on Interpunk or go digital on Itunes, emusic and Napster.

Damaged Ugly & Loud is ready to go! The Resistors’ first album,
26 years in the making, will be released November 6, 2007. Click the Paypal button on the front page to pre-order. The album will also be available on Itunes, emusic, Napster ect on that date as well. For those that don’t care about a physical CD, you can download the album right now via the Snocap player on the front page.

Damaged Ugly & Loud contains 12 tracks spanning from the band’s inception through today. Every member of the band, from founding member Eric Hess to
new guitarists Dano and Doc Shew contributed to the DIY project. A CD release party is tentatively scheduled for November 24th at The Crump Theater.

But the band is not resting on it’s laurels! Looking ahead to 2008, the band plans to release it’s sophomore project tentatively entitled Blood Oil and Sand sometime next summer.

Yesterday the band took huge strides in getting the album project back on schedule. I'm also pleaed to announce original guitaist Eric Hess will have a spot on the album. Eric stopped by LRS last Thurs. to record his tracks for the album. I should also add, as you may have noticed, the album cover is also done (as you probably noticed on the front page).

We are also saddened by the news that our friends at the 7th Street Lounge in Bedford have closed the doors. Our friends Ohm Fister and The Willing also had shows scheduled there this month.

We hope to see you all at The Crump on June 23rd!

Item! April 20th, 2007.

We are so stoked about this one! Jerry and Evan over at WQNA was nice enough to play Andropov's Assassins on the The Friday Night Boot Party. Just goes to show you, if you're patient, anything can happen!

Also, we can officially announce our first full length album, Damaged, Ugly & Loud is being recorded and we hope to have a late summer/early fall release. The album will ocver original songs from the 80's, 90's and brand new stuff we're still writing.

Wow! I can't believe I haven't updated this page in 3 months-and what a 3 months it's been. The January Crump show was probably our best show to date. We received an offer to play the 7th Street Lounge in Bedford for March 2 and we rocked the house with The Buzzkills and the Lads Insane. The great folks at 7th Street know how to treat the bands and we had a blast. Look for another show there soon. We'll also be hosting another show at The Crump theater June 23rd.

The Hoosier Music Group Punk Comp has been put on hold as we work out licensing issues.

Item! December 2, 2006.

What do you do when you find yourself one band short for a show? You call on the Resistors of course! The last minute addition to the bill at the Blue River Theater took some doing but the band was happy to help out HMG Promotions for a 30 minute set last night December 1st. Opening for Zoo and Soul Shine the band played several old favs such as Brand New Caddy, Punk's Not Dead and Pretty Vacant. Rumor has it the band will return to the Blue River Theater in January for a Punk Rock Night show. Special thanks to Commander Gary Schrader for the pics. You can check them out in the gallery.

Item! October 13th, 2006.

The Resistors once again took the Crump stage Sept 30th. This was the first show with the new line up and the band was well received. Former guitarist and founding member Eric Hess joined the band for Exterminator. Other highlights included Doc Shew’s lead on Brand New Cadillac, Dano’s vocals on I Wanna Be Sedated, JP’s outstanding back up vocal work on Hacienda and the bands brand new song Climbing The Walls.

Special thanks to Margaret and Craig for running video. The band is on break unitl Oct 20th. On tap for the next rehearsal will be learning some new material as well as discussion on the next show. We have received several emails from our friends at
Myspace asking us to play the Crump again so we’ll look into doing that sometime early 2007.

Also, make sure to check out Dano's Eve Of Destruction on our myspace player ! Dano adaptaion of this classic song is fantastic and the band is looking forward to working on it Oct 20th!

The Echo Park Experience

As reported last month, the Resistors did indeed spend the day at Echo Park Studio in Bloomington Indiana yesterday. The band arrived shortly after 10 am and was recording by 12:30 p.m. or so. A detailed accouting will be given in the Resistors Blog on myspace. The band was shooting for at least 2 songs and thanks to Kevin (the wizard) the band got 3 tracks recorded and mixed: Andropov's Assassin, Nympho and Punk's Not Dead. Punk's Not Dead is available on the Resistors and Hoosier Music Group myspace music players. Give it a listen and come back here to the forum and let us know what you think!

Chris "Doc" Shew tapped as the Resistors new guitarist

Through extreme negotiations with his agent, the Resistors have signed Chris as the bands new guitarist. In the 1980's Chris filled in for Eric while Eric was in the Air Force. Chris co-wrote the song Nympho and played gutiar on Suicide. We're very excited about the new lineup and you can look for big things on the horizon with the band!

The practice that almost wasn't could be the title of our latest news item. We didn't know until the last minute that Ken would get a set of drums to rehearse with until nearly the "eleventh" hour but we did pull it all together and jam yesterday, even if only for about an hour.

With only a week to get ready, Dano arrived at the "new nest" ready to rock. We quickly covered our classic line up and we were all very impressed with Mr Dan. This afternoon Jim, Ken and I unanimously agreed to add Dan as our new guitarist. We're looking forward to working with Dan in the future. Thanks so much Dan for being a part of this Motley Crue (no pun intended) and welcome to the show!

Item! July 17th, 2006.
It is with great sadness that we report our brother and guitarist, Eric, has chosen to leave the band. I know this decision did not come easy for him and we support his reasons and choice 100%. Jim, Ken and I all love Eric as a brother and he will be deeply deeply missed. We have talked it over and have reached the decision to continue on this crazy journey without our "little red-headed friend" as my mother so dearly called Eric. While we may be able to find another person to play guitar, Eric can never truly be replaced.

So, far now, the Resistors explore the Undiscovered Country-the future.

It's no April fools gag, the band got together early this morning for the April jam session. The song list was discussed for the May 13th show and then rehearsed.
